I am obliged by your favour of the 19th instant (23625/1920)
to hand to-day contents of which I have carefully noted. I much
regret the Secretary of State cannot see his way to recommending
that Mrs. Jonos' pension should be reconsidered as we feel that having regard to the present economic conditions even if she was
granted half the amount which she had previously from the Government
of Hong Kong it would make a very great difference.
I thank you, however, for sending the correspondence on
to the Governor for his consideration and we sincerely trust that
he will be good enough to view the whole case favourably.
I am, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
se
Secretary.
